The Doo Wops made their debut in 1994 with a brief, but irreverant performance during the Proud Image Chorus annual spring show.  The audience's reaction and fun the singers had performing, was the motivation for the group to begin performing on their own.  It began with requests for birthday parties and other informal venues; however, after singing at several conferences and community festivals the guys decided to establish themselves as a new entertainment option for eastern Iowa.

Their repertoire includes contemporary and older classics such as:  In the Still of the Night, Blue Moon, In My Room, Under the Board Walk and many more.  Mixing humor with their songs, the Doo Wops enjoy entertaining.  As an audience member said after a recent performance, "It really shows".

Twelve men comprise the Doo Wop roster.  Members include Basses - Bob Trettin, Kyle Ferden, John Timm. Leads - Jim Girres, Justin Wagner, Bill Moran. Tenors - Dick Meyer, Randy Ruehs. Baritones - Ted Gerdes, Joe Wagner, Denny Craun. Sound - John Bergman.
